Abstract GIFs
Creative Brief:The goal of this project was to explore the dynamic relationship between color, shape, movement, and composition through the medium of .GIFs. The challenge was to push these elements into interesting visual narratives, emphasizing motion as a key component in bringing abstract forms to life.
Role: Motion Designer
Process: I worked directly in After Effects and Photoshop to animate each piece, experimenting with different color palettes, geometric shapes, and transitions. I aimed to create fluid, engaging animations that felt both spontaneous and deliberate. The project was heavily inspired by the work of Skip Dolphin Hursh, whose approach to abstract motion and vibrant compositions informed the playful, experimental nature of my designs. Each .GIF was an opportunity to study how movement could transform the perception of simple visual elements.
Result: The final collection highlights the power of minimalistic design elements when combined with motion. The .GIFs stand as individual explorations but also as a cohesive set, demonstrating the potential of animation to evoke mood, rhythm, and engagement through pure design. The project served as a creative exercise in pushing the boundaries of abstract motion and visual storytelling.
